DURAFIX EASYWELD 20 ROD ALUMINIUM WELDING KIT
DURAFIX EASYWELD 20 ROD ALUMINIUM WELDING KIT Details:

This kit comprises of 20 rods in a plastic tube, a stainless steel wire brush, 1 x 399g propane cylinder and a Bullfinch pro quality blowtorch only.

As approved distributors, we have pleasure in being able to offer this fantastic product to all our customers throughout ebay and the automotive industry.

Durafix Easyweld is a low temperature aluminium welding solution. High cost TIG welders are not required. All that's needed is the ability to heat the alloy to 732 farenheit using a propane/mappro torch (available in our shop) or by oxy-acetylene (for larger pieces). It's very similar to brazing or high temperature soldering. The molten rods will adhere to the aluminium giving a very strong permanent weld. The wire brush supplied must be used to clean the work, as the rods will not adhere to stainless steel. No other type of wire brush should be used.

I have used this product myself for manufacturing lightweight aluminium van racking and car audio installations (amp racks etc) with great results. The only limitation is your imagination... what could you do with the easyweld product?

I also have customers who have used this product for repairing all kind of damaged alloy components including cracked oil sumps, ladders, etc etc.

Durafix Easyweld has hundreds of uses.

Radiators & Cooling systems Aluminium Awnings
Boats & Marine Equipment Farm Machinery
Ladders Irrigation Pipes
Gutters & Down Spouts General mechanical

The ultimate Durafix Easyweld kit

There is no need for expensive equipment. No need for years of welding experience. It's convenient and can be used by both novice and professional alike.

Durafix Easyweld is the most widely used rod on the market for aluminium welding, welding zinc based metals - white - die cast and pot metals.

Welds made with the rod are clean and free from slag, and produces a sound joint which is stronger than the parent metal.

With Durafix Easyweld rods you can now do aluminium welding which were previously too difficult or uneconomic. Aluminium boat repair was often impractical because of the very thin guage aluminium used in boat hulls. Now aluminium skins of almost any thickness can be welded successfully, easily and cheaply.

Durafix Easyweld can be applied with any handheld torch - Oxyacetylene, Mapp, Propane or Butane. The Durafix Easyweld rod is an essential product for the D.I.Y enthusiast and a valued addition to the professional workshop for aluminium welding

How it works:-

Preparation
Always wear safety gloves and glasses. Clean the surface thouroughly with a stainless steel brush only. (A steel brush will contaminate the aluminium.)

Heating
Heat the item with the Gas Torch. (Do Not apply the flame to the rod) Where possible, use a firebrick to clamp and heat your work on. This will provide a good working surface and help maintain the temperature.

Repairing
Apply the rod onto the heated surface and stir the rod until the gap is filled. Draw the flame away slowly and allow the item to cool naturally & completely. (Do Not cool quickly eg - water or oil bath)

  • The material must be cleaned with a stainless steel brush, because the rod will not adhere to stainless steel.
  • The rod will not adhere to the material being brazed if it is cleaned with any other type brush.
  • Clean the area to be welded down to the base.
  • Brush the base with the stainless steel brush until shiny.
  • Heat the area to be welded, evenly.
  • As you heat the base, rub the rod vigorously against the heated piece until the rod flows.
  • NEVER apply heat directly to the rod.
